Krista Sharpe Involved in Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" Play at Hardin-Simmons University

2013 Sep 17

Krista Sharpe of Canyon Lake, Texas, is set to have a role as Mrs. Ferrars in the Hardin-Simmons University theatre department's performance of Sense and Sensibility, Jon Jory's adaptation of Jane Austen's eponymous novel.

Sense and Sensibility, Jane Austen's classic tale of flirtation and folly, opens on the main stage in Van Ellis Theatre at HSU this November.

In this tale of love and scandal, two very differently tempered sisters are forced to rely on each other to weather their heartache. While sensible Elinor is charmed by the quiet, bumbling goodness of Edward, passionate Marianne is swept off of her feet by the dashing and mysterious Willoughby. When Willoughby's scandalous past and Edward's secret fiancee come to light, the sisters learn that when "sense and sensibility" meet, love can't be far behind.

The play will be performed at Van Ellis Theatre, Hardin-Simons University, November 14 - 16, and November 21 - 23, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. and November 24 at 2 p.m.

General admission is $8; military, seniors, and students are $5; and HSU faculty, staff, and students are free. Purchase tickets online at WWW.HSUTX.EDU/TICKETS, or at the door.
