Julia Gunn Receives Scholarship at Hardin-Simmons University

Julia Gunn of Allen, Texas, was awarded the Edwina Ham Endowed Scholarship by the Irvin School of Education at Hardin-Simmons University.

A total of 67 Hardin-Simmons University students were awarded scholarships totaling over $108,000 during the recent ceremony in the HSU Johnson Building.

About 200 parents, students, professors, and scholarship donors attended the awards ceremony. Students in the Irvin School of education who receive the scholarships are planning to become teachers, counselors, psychologists, or pursuing degrees using physical education.

The Irvin School of Education has a lengthy history of producing successful teaching professionals. Programs are assessed annually by faculty members and rigorously and objectively reviewed every five years by a committee of deans outside of the Irvin School of Education.

Through seven schools and colleges, HSU offers seven undergraduate degree programs encompassing more than 70 major fields of study. Eighteen graduate programs are offered, including doctoral programs in physical therapy, ministry, functional manual therapy, and education.
