Danielle Distler Receives Hardin-Simmons University Scholarship

Danielle Distler of Hawley, Texas, was awarded the Mary Margaret & Ida Jane Collins Endowed Memorial Scholarship at the 2013 Irvin School of Education reception on the Hardin-Simmons University campus, April 8, 2013.

Students receiving the scholarships are preparing for careers in teaching, athletic training and sports medicine, and fitness and sports sciences.

A total of $121,375 in scholarships was awarded to 69 students in the Irvin School of Education. Approximately $12,000,000 is given annually to students attending the various colleges and schools that make up HSU.

Ten graduate degrees, encompassing 26 programs, include the Doctor of Ministry, Doctor of Education in Leadership, and the Doctor of Physical Therapy.

International study programs include England, Austria, Hong Kong, Spain, and Australia.

Hardin-Simmons University, founded in 1891, is a private Christian liberal arts university, and has been affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas (Texas Baptists) since 1941.
